Listen to the radio and t.v for updates, tape up your windows so no water can come in and the glass won't shatter or crack, fill water containers because pipes can snap and the water will turn dirty, make sure your car is under shelter and it is fueled, collect first aid kits, clothes, shoes, turn off the gas and electricity and lock your home if you are leaving.
